At Dornbush Schaeffer Strongin & Venaglia, Ms. Ebbs is a member of the Litigation Group. Most recently, she has participated in the defense of a pharmaceutical company in complex federal antitrust actions, the representation of corporate clients in employment related litigation, and has assisted in the defense of foreign investors in a dispute involving the sale of a significant parcel of Manhattan real estate.
Prior to joining the firm in 2005, Ms. Ebbs participated in the defense of auditors in complex federal securities fraud actions and served as a member of the trial team for auditors in In re WorldCom, Inc. Securities Litigation. She also helped to advise foreign corporations on issues involving the United Nations Oil-for-Food Programme and other international economic sanction regimes. Prior to that, Ms. Ebbs participated in the representation of a company sued by the Federal Trade Commission and more than fifteen state attorneys general for alleged consumer fraud, the defense of foreign entities in federal district court involving the purchase of debt located in over fifty jurisdictions worldwide, and the representation of a multi-national corporation in an arbitration involving the alleged breach of an international non-compete clause in connection with the sale of its subsidiary.
Ms. Ebbs is on the Advisory Council of the Public International Law and Policy Group (PILPG), an organization operating as a global pro bono law firm providing free legal assistance to developing states and substate entities involved in conflicts. Ms. Ebbs is also a member of Network 20/20, a New York City organization that prepares the next generation of leaders to help shape the foreign policy debate involving global investment, development and security concerns. She belongs to the American Society for International Law and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Ebbs received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001. Also in 2001, she received her M.A. from American University, School of International Service, where she was a recipient of the Samuel L. Sharp Memorial Prize for Creative Work in International Relations. Ms. Ebbs graduated from Davidson College with her B.A. in Political Science in 1994. While in law school and graduate school, she interned at the United States Department of Justice (Criminal Division, OPDAT), the United States Department of State (Office of the Legal Adviser, UN Affairs), and the International Crisis Group in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Ebbs is admitted to practice in the State of New York and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.
